MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The ballot for the April election is all but set as candidates have turned in their paperwork to be placed on the ballot for the six seats available in the City’s Common Council and Mayor positions.
Most notably, there will be three candidates running for Mayor and a primary will be held ahead of the spring election to decide who will be on the ballot.
In District 9, Tom Buttke did not turn in nominations and therefore has withdrawn his bid for reelection. City Clerk Deb Hall said that Buttke’s withdrawal means the deadline to turn in nominations for a District 9 spot have been extended until Friday, Jan. 7. Local business owner Mike O’Reilly will run unopposed for Buttke’s spot on the Common Council unless someone turns in nominations for the position before Friday at 5 p.m.
