Voters supported our area’s top performers last week, voting for the top athlete of the week with gusto.
Taking the title as OnFocus Athlete of the Week, April 2 to April 8 was Chequamegon’s Autumn Michalski, collecting 545 votes!
2023 Central Wisconsin Spring Sports Schedules
The Mosinee foursome of Malina Carratini, Kate Baars, Taelyn Jirschele and Britt Fitzgerald collected an impressive 466 votes to take second place.
Third place was picked up by Landon Parlier of Wausau West, with an additional impressive vote total of 361 votes. Fourth place was earned by Jett Schoenherr of Stratford with 232 votes.

OnFocus Athlete of the Week, April 2 to April 8
- Landon Parlier, Wausau West Baseball – Parlier was2X4 with a home run, four runs scored, and picked up three stolen bases for the Warriors in their season-opening 11-8 win over LaCrosse Logan.
- Malina Carattini/Kate Baars/Taelyn Jirschele/Britt Fitzgerald, Mosinee Girls Track and Field – The foursome came home with first place in the 4X400 M Relay at the WIAA Indoor Sta and Fte Track & Field Championships held at UW-Whitewater on Saturday with a school record time of 4:09.85.
- Teegan Streit, Edgar Boys Track and Field – Streit earned four first place finishes at the Marawood Conference Indoor Track Meet. Streit took first in the long jump, triple jump and 60 m high hurdles, and was a member of the Wildcats’ winning entry in the 4X400 along with Avery Normington, Leyton Schuett and Kohlbe Weisenberger.
- Autumn Michalski, Chequamegon Girls Track and Field – Michalski claimed first place in three events at the Marawood Conference Indoor Track Meet: 800 m run, 1600 m run and 3200 m run.
- Jett Schoenherr, Stratford Boys Track and Field – Schoenherr took first place for the Tigers in the 60 m dash and 200 m dash at the Marawood Conference Indoor Track Meet.
