Chippewa Falls ousts Marshfield from WIAA volleyball playoffs

CHIPPEWA FALLS – The Marshfield volleyball team saw its season come to an end, losing a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal to Chippewa Falls 3-0 on Thursday night at Chippewa Falls High School.

The Tigers lost 26-24, 25-19, 25-15, to finish their 2018 season.

Chippewa Falls, the No. 6 seed in the Sectional 1 bracket, moves on to a regional final Saturday night at No. 3 seed Wausau West. West swept Menomonie 3-0 on Thursday.

Karly Nikolai and Alani Carter each had eight kills, Kaydee Johnson had 15 digs, and Taylor Barwick had 10 assists to lead Marshfield in each category.

Kati Sadowska added 10 digs and Bailey Matis had nine assists for the Tigers.
