MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The City of Marshfield is urging residents to stay informed about the impact of the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), an invasive insect that continues to threaten ash trees in the area.
First confirmed in Marshfield in January 2021, EAB infestations can cause severe damage to ash trees, leading to decline and eventual tree loss. To help property owners make informed decisions, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has released a fact sheet detailing EAB’s effects, how to identify an infestation, and available management strategies.
Residents can access this information on the Forestry Division webpage or contact the City Forester at 715-486-2073 for further guidance.
Protecting the city’s trees requires awareness and proactive management. Residents are encouraged to stay informed and take necessary steps to help mitigate the spread of EAB.
