City of Marshfield Staff Update Common Council on City Hall Move Status

City of Marshfield Staff continues to work with Design Unlimited on the final remodeling plans for the new City Hall building. At Tuesday’s meeting of the City of Marshfield Common Council, Public Works Director Dan Knoeck gave a brief presentation on the final floor plan for the new location.

The new facility includes a Council Chambers that doubles as the Municipal Court, department customer service windows to better serve the community, and a convenient conference room. Much different from the current City Hall location, where departments and meeting spaces are spread across seven floors, in the new facility departments most commonly used by the public are all located on one floor.

Additionally, he outlined the schedule and timeline for moving into the new facility.
Forward Financial recently announced that they plan to move into their new building during the third week of February. The City anticipates closing on the purchase of the property by the beginning of March, with the proposed bidding schedule allowing for work to begin during the first week of April.

The target move dates are September 7-9, with the first day of operation in the new building to be Monday September 10, 2018.
