City Yard Waste Pickup to Begin Oct. 11

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The bi-annual pickup up leaves and other yard waste by the City of Marshfield will begin next week.

Leaves are starting to fall and the City of Marshfield is providing a free service to help residents get rid of unwanted yard waste.

Dates for the leaf and yard waste pickup are Oct. 11 – 14, 25 – 28, and Nov. 8 – 11. The branch and brush pickup will occur Oct. 18 – 21.

All leaf and yard waste materials to be picked up must be enclosed in “Kraft” brown paper bags or a reusable container. All materials will be picked up separately from garbage during the designated weeks.

All brush and branches must be bundled and tied in one foot (1′) diameter bundles not to exceed four feet (4′) in length or placed in a reusable container in lengths not to exceed four feet (4′) or six inches (6″) in diameter. All materials will be picked up separately from garbage during designated weeks.

City of Marshfield residents may also drop off yard waste, brush, branches and Christmas trees twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week at no charge at the compost site located at: Waste Management, 18th Street (and Hume Avenue) Office Hours: Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Saturday from 7:00 a.m. until 12 noon.
