Cleaning up Storm Aftermath
Marshfield (OnFocus) After two storm systems moved through Central Wisconsin on Friday and Saturday that toppled trees, damaged structures and left thousands without power, cleanup is underway.
Marshfield Utilities worked through the night in Marshfield restoring service on Friday only to resume efforts on Saturday after a second storm system passed through the area. By Sunday afternoon, the majority of service had been restored.
Throughout the weekend, the sounds of chainsaws echoed through neighborhoods as residents and professionals cleared branches and fallen trees.
“Residents are able to take their branches to the City of Marshfield compost site at Advance Disposal,” said City of Marshfield Street Superintendent Dean Schiller. “At this time, we are not doing any additional curbside pickups. That may change as we continue to assess the storm damage in the city.”
Advance Disposal has designated two containers in the front lot for residents to dispose of any compost materials. Advance Disposal is located at 501 S. Hume Ave.
