Coach Al Guthman of Owen-Withee set the all-time girl’s basketball coaching wins record at 700 with the Blackhawks win over Greenwood at Owen-Withee High School. Coach Guthman passed Jim Meyers the former coach from Barneveld High School for the all-time record.
Coach Guthman began his career coaching in Weyerhauser before coming to Owen-Withee and won his 750th total game back on December 8th with a win over Spencer.
Coach Guthman plans to retire following this season which sees his Blackhawks 4-2 and in a four-way tie for second in the Cloverbelt East. Coach Guthman’s final regular season game will be on February 11th in a home contest against the Loyal Greyhounds.
