Colby Football Throttles Abbotsford; moves to 8-0

The  Colby Hornets and Abbotsford Falcons were in a dogfight for one quarter before Colby turned on the jets, throttling Abbotsford 55-16 in Marawood Conference Football. The win moves the Hornets to 8-0, 6-0 in the Marawood, and sets up a Week 9 showdown with Auburndale for a chance to repeat as undefeated Marawood Champions.

Tevin Rue had three touchdowns for Colby: an 8 yard run, 34 yard reception from Tucker Meyer, and a 50 yard punt return for a touchdown.

Cade Healy led Colby with 118 yards rushing on 21 carries, scoring twice on a pair of 1 yard touchdown runs.

Colby hosts Auburndale(7-1, 5-1 Marawood, tied with Edgar for second place) in a game that will determine the Marawood Conference Champion. Wins by Auburndale and Edgar(at home vs Marathon) would result in tri-conference champions. A Colby win would give the Hornets a conference title and a 9-0 record, clinching a high seeding in the playoffs,likely a #1 seed.
