Colby Volleyball Defeats Neillsville in Tight Match

Colby defeats Neillsville in conference play 25-13, 24-26, 25-21, 25-11

Report prepared by Colby Head Coach Wade Oehmichen

The ladies came out hot tonight, almost as hot as the gym.  Playing very aggressively at the net and on defense.  I don’t have any of the stats in for tonight, but it was one of the best blocking games we’ve had this season.  Lilly Brzezinski and Savana Thomsen dominated the net and got touches on almost every single ball that came over.  Daelyn Rieck had a tremendous night, both on offense (with some absolute monster swings) and solid defense.  Dakota Hoeper, Hannah Trush both had maybe one of their best nights as well.

We’ve got a very smart team, the girls are coming together as a unit and are grasping more of the fine details we stress as focus opportunities.  It’s very fun to watch how quickly they went from just scrambling around on the court to being able to pick apart defenses.
