A new study has revealed the colleges that produce the highest earning NFL players.
The study, by sports betting media group Canada Sports Betting, analyzed the lifetime career earnings of active NFL players who attended college in America, to calculate the average earnings per player from different colleges.
In first place, with average earnings of $38,242,817 per player, is the University of California, Berkeley. New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is the highest-earning active NFL player to hail from Berkeley, with approximately $305,608,010 earned throughout his career.
Mississippi State takes the second spot on the list, with an average earnings per player of $28,653,428. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is the highest-earning active NFL player from Mississippi State, earning approximately $131,317,825 throughout his career.
In close third place, is Clemson, South Carolina, with average earnings per player of $22,639,863. Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is the highest-earning currently active NFL player to hail from Fresno, with career earnings of approximately $111,577,890.
Fourth place goes to Michigan State University, with an average earnings per player of $19,980,639. Minnesota Vikings Kirk Cousins is the highest-earning active NFL player from the University of Wyoming, with approximate total career earnings of $201,669,486.
Fresno State University, California, takes the fifth spot on the list, with an average earnings per player of $19,244,175. Derek Carr, quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, is the highest-earning active NFL player out of Mississippi State University, with approximate career earnings of $135,666,395.
The remainder of the top ten features Ohio State University in sixth place, with average earnings per player of $19,125,252. Seventh place goes to Florida State University, with an average earnings per player of $18,211,276.
Eighth place goes to Louisiana State University, where the average earnings per player is $18,182,595. Ninth on the list is University of Wisconsin-Madison, averaging $18,155,108 per player.
Rounding out the list in tenth place is the University of Southern California, with an average earning per player of $18,081,670.
Interestingly, the University of Alabama has the most active NFL players at 68 players. Still, due to the sheer number of players, the average earning per player is only $15,942,341. This is followed by Louisiana State University, with 59 active NFL players.

A spokesperson for Canada Sports Betting commented on the findings, saying:

The study’s insights reflect the dedication and effective development programs that have contributed to a legacy of achievement on the football field.”
Methodology:
Data on all currently active NFL players was gathered and broken down to average earnings per player by college attended. Per player average earnings were calculated by dividing the total average earnings by the number of active players. Colleges with fewer than ten active players as well as players without published earnings were omitted.
