KRONENWETTER – A dominating first-half performance proved to be enough for the Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls basketball team on Monday.
The Dons ran out to a 14-point lead by the break and finished off a 46-38 victory in a nonconference game at Northland Lutheran.
Columbus (4-2) led 27-13 at halftime and held on in the second half despite missing six of its 11 free throw attempts.
Addie Baierl was the only player to reach double figures for the Dons as she finished with a game-high 21 points, 13 in the first half. Maren Seefluth added nine points in the victory.
Kari Kreklau scored 16 points for Northland Lutheran (2-3).
Columbus Catholic hosts Granton on Tuesday in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game beginning at 7:15 p.m.
