Columbus Catholic soccer blanks Wisconsin Valley Lutheran

MOSINEE – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to nine in the Central Wisconsin Conference with a dominant 7-0 win over Wisconsin Valley Lutheran on Thursday.

The Dons are now 10-4-1 overall and 8-0-1 in conference play with three CWC games remaining. WVL drops to 2-7-2 overall and 2-6-1 in the CWC.

Nadim Torbey hit for a hat trick, including two goals in the first half for the Dons. Noah Taylor added another goal to put Columbus up 3-0 at halftime.

Kevin Nguyen, Dylan Porter and Zach Olson added goals in the second half for Columbus, which outshot WVL 38-5 and 26-2 on goal.

Columbus Catholic plays at Stevens Point Pacelli at 5 p.m. Monday at the Portage County Youth Soccer Complex.
