COLBY – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic softball team swept a Cloverbelt Conference East Division doubleheader from Colby/Abbotsford on Monday, winning 13-7 and 11-1, in the twinbill at Colby High School.
Columbus Catholic improves to 4-1 overall and in Cloverbelt East play, while Colby/Abbotsford falls to 1-4 and 1-2 in the conference.
Addison Baierl was the winning pitcher in both games, striking out eight in Game 1 and three more in Game 2.
In the opener, Addison Baierl and Annika Brown each had three hits, with Baierl driving in four runs and Brown two.
Taylor Tolppi and Brooke Neider both had two hits and two runs scored in the win.
Maren Seefluth and Addison Baierl each had a pair of hits, and Annie Baierl had three RBIs in the second game for the Dons.
Columbus Catholic hosts Neillsville on Tuesday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds at 5 p.m.
