Students Decorate Coffee Sleeves for Local Art Fundraiser
MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Now through January 8, 2023, visitors to Coffee Cabin Espresso in Marshfield will receive a special coffee sleeve with their hot drink order. Kids at local schools decorated the sleeves. Each week, a different school’s sleeves will be handed out to customers. If that school sells all their sleeves, they will get a $500.00 check for their art program. If they sell half, they get $250.00.
“This means there is a potential for $3000.00 to be awarded to our Marshfield Elementary Art educators,” said Kirsten Tertin, owner. “We wanted to give back to the community in ways that haven’t been thought of. There are always a lot of asks for donations for the same type of things, but never art programs. As a crafter, I decided to blaze our own path and give back in this way, as Art and Music programs often get overlooked.”

The fundraiser is free to the schools, with Coffee Cabin supplying the blank sleeves for kids to decorate.
“Our staff and consumers alike adore these sleeves. From funny misspells, jokes, to great talent, they all make us smile,” said Tertin. “We’re putting original artwork that our very own town-kids made straight into the hands of adults. The students and their families are so excited to come participate and grab their classmates’ sleeves. And at the end of all that, we give the money earned back to art education absolutely free to the schools.”
Tertin plans to continue the art sleeve fundraiser every year.
“And every year, we offer up over $3000.00 split between the schools based on the sales of their sleeves. The kids color them, the community smiles, and art teachers can restock,” she said.
