SPENCER, WI (OnFocus) – Staff and students in the Spencer School District (& beyond!) are encouraged to wear green to show love and support for the Heather Widmann Family on Friday, October 13.

In October 2022, Heather Widmann was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma, Bile Duct and Liver Cancer. In an October 9, 2023 post on the Hope for Heather Widmann Facebook page, Heather shared the following update:

“As some of you have heard my cancer is getting worse. This was a long hospital stay with many ups and downs. After learning the tumor is invading more vessels and enlarging there isn’t much that can be done anymore and my life expectancy is down to several weeks. With that being said after some difficult discussions I have chosen to focus my time on quality of life and being with my family. I am home now and will be connected to hospice services.

Visitors are welcome but please be mindful of keeping them short as I do tire easily and calling ahead of time. I would like to thank everyone for their love and support they have shown me and my family over the last year and we feel lucky to have such wonderful family, friends, and community. I gave it my all but sometimes we fall short in the end💚
