MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The Marshfield Police Department and Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, in coordination with other local law enforcement agencies, continues to seek the public’s assistance in locating Bartholomew “Bart” Baumann, age 35. Baumann is considered armed and dangerous.
Updates:
- July 7, 2024, 9:00 AM: Baumann has not been located. He was last seen shirtless and wearing tan shorts in the area west of Stratford.
- July 6, 2024, 8:00 PM: Baumann’s vehicle, a 2014 maroon Ford Fusion Sedan with Wisconsin plate ATE7428, was located just west of Stratford. The vehicle has shot-out windows and a damaged rear bumper.
Baumann, who is heavily tattooed, is approximately 5’7” and weighs 180 lbs. He is wanted for a Department of Corrections Felony Warrant and is believed to be armed with a pistol. A significant law enforcement presence remains in the Stratford area, with ongoing efforts to locate and apprehend Baumann.
The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office found Baumann’s vehicle earlier Saturday evening in the Town of Eau Pleine, near Kingswood Lane and Staadt Avenue. The search has involved SWAT teams from Marathon County, Marshfield, and Portage County, as well as officers from the Stratford Police Department, Spencer Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, K-9 units, and drones.
Residents are urged to exercise caution. If Baumann is seen, do not approach him and call 911 immediately.
