Ashley Strong Celebration of Determination Draws Hundreds

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – On Saturday, hundreds of people attended a “Celebration of Determination” for Columbus High School graduate Ashley Herman. In January of 2021, Ashley was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a blood cancer that starts in the lymphatic system which helps the immune system fight infections.

The event took place at Outer Limits in Spencer, and featured a large outdoor tent where attendees could dance to Aaron Lee Kaplan, Alter Ego, and headliner Gypsy Rose, enter to win from 160+ raffle baskets and silent auction items, enjoy food and drink, and support a great cause.

“We are so happy with the turnout,” said Trisha Mayer, event coordinator. “It was great to see so many people come out and show support for this awesome family!”

“We are so uplifted and humbled by this whole experience, truly grateful beyond words!” said Rebecca Herman, Ashley’s mom. “This community is exceptional! Their prayers and support are the reason we have the strength to fight! Today is Ashley’s scan day, and we sincerely feel like we have an army behind us!”

If you would like to support the Herman family, donations can be made through PayPal to an account set up by Mayer here. There is also an account at Forward Bank in Marshfield called “Ashley Strong” where donations can be sent or deposited.

T-shirts designed especially for the event also helped fundraise. (There are a few left over and available at Weiler’s location at 2005 N Central Ave.)
