An initial appearance was held Monday at Wood County court for two parents accused of causing the death of their newborn son on April 6.
Allen Rice, 20, and Marylinn Feher, 22, of Milladore were arrested after their newborn was discovered in a garbage bag in the backseat of Rice’s vehicle while Feher sought medical treatment in Marshfield. Police rushed the infant to the emergency room where he was temporarily revived by medical staff before succumbing to his injuries, which included skull fracture and strangulation.
A motion to lower Rice’s cash bond from $35,000 to $5,000 was denied by the court. Allen Rice is charged with two counts of child neglect that led to death, a Class D Felony, and three counts of resisting or obstructing an officer, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Feher is facing felony charges with one count of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide and two counts for child neglect leading to death. Her bond is currently set at $1 million and she is also to have no contact with minor children.
Court appearances scheduled April 22 and then May 6 were both delayed pending an autopsy report. A Preliminary hearing and Arraignment is scheduled for June 12 at 9:30 a.m. at Wood County Court.
