OnFocus – After having a record fundraising year in 2019, Dan Neve and his Cruise for a Cause efforts in the fight against cancer were hoping for an even better 2020. With so many events being cancelled, however, that goal seemed to be out of reach.

Despite the challenges of fundraising during a pandemic, Neve still did all he could by hosting a worldwide online event called “Mustangs on a Mission: the Experience”, which featured two days of guest speakers who were or are still major players in the history and production of the Ford Mustang. Jack Roush Jr, Vaughn Gittin Jr, Steve Saleen, Lee Holman, and other name plate engineers and managers made appearances on the Jerry Lewis-style Telethon.

Also in 2020, Neve worked with Middleton Ford in offering a full line of Hope Edition vehicles.

“These builds are limited editions and a percentage from each sale will support cancer research,” explained Neve. “We are excited with this venture and that it gives anyone who would like to show their support, that they battled it, a platform to do so.”

Though the year did not turn out as planned, Neve was able to donate $60,000 to the Marshfield Clinic as a result of 2020 fundraising efforts.

“We are looking forward to getting back to what we all expect in a normal year,” he said. “Cruise for a Cause has plans to do more than ever in making a difference with added events and more traveling across the country.”

The effort is now teamed up with the Ho Chunk Casino and Convention Center in Wisconsin Dells to offer more opportunity to donate and have fun. To start the year, on May 1-2 there is a car, truck and indoor vendor/craft show called the “ALL IN Against Cancer” event.

“We hope many will make the trip to attend, spend the day or weekend,” said Neve. “We also are working with area sports car clubs (MSCC, CWSCC, FVSCC) offering autocross dates to really have a blast driving your car in a safer location than on the streets. Parking lot excitement racing against the clock!”

Neve also has plans to travel and attend shows throughout the country, in TN, MO, PA, OK, MI, SD, and SC.

The year will conclude with Cruise for a Cause’s biggest event, FALL FORD FEST, with participants from 13 states and Canada.

“This event is four days long, with an autocross class, tour routes, 18 hole golf tournament, car show, banquet and other exciting and fun activities!” said Neve. “Over the past years we always offered a raffle for those who supported it a chance to win some really nice prizes. Because travel was very limited last year we took to the internet to help out.”

Cruise for a Cause now is offering a nationwide sweepstakes, giving away a 2021 Shelby Signature HOPE Edition GT500.

“This will be the only one built for 2021 so it will be a 1 of 1,” said Neve. “Winning this will be the highlight of anyone’s year or life time. If interested in not only winning this car but to also support our mission of making a difference, visit our newly redesigned website or this link. By visiting this link you will get 30% more entries as a special promotion.”
