D.C. Everest Multi-Sport Athlete Lauren Bouffleur, Pancakes or Waffles: Time Flies, Enjoy Every Second
We take a closer look at D.C. Everest Cross Country and Track Standout Lauren Bouffleur, with our world-famous interview, Pancakes or Waffles? Learn the inside information on Bouffleur…
OnFocus: What are your favorite subjects/classes and why?
Boufffleur: My favorite classes AP Stats, AP Psychology, and Art. Math has been difficult for me in past years, but this year I love learning about statistics and I enjoy what
we’re learning about! Psychology is really interesting to me because it helps us
understand why people do what they do, and art is just a fun class where I can
relax and be creative.
OnFocus: What are your hobbies?
Boufffleur: When I’m not running, I like hanging out with my friends, skiing, and watching tv.
OnFocus: Who is/was your first favorite teacher and why?
Boufffleur: My first favorite teacher was Ms. Adamus, my 1st grade teacher. She was just a really fun, cool person and a great teacher.
OnFocus: What is your favorite music to listen to?
Boufffleur: Rap music
OnFocus: What are your plans after high school?
Boufffleur: After high school, I’m most likely going to college. I’m not sure which one or
where yet, but I want to go to college and study something in the healthcare field.
OnFocus: If they made a movie about you, and your life, what would it be called?
Boufffleur: Lauren Bouffleur: the Movie
OnFocus: What sports do you play?
Boufffleur: Cross country and track
OnFocus: Which teammate would you not want to be stranded with on a deserted
island?
Boufffleur: Sara(Mlodik) because she’d start talking about statistics and chemistry and I’d get bored out of my mind. I also would want to be stranded with her because she’s the
smartest person I know.

OnFocus: What are some memorable moments you have had as an athlete?
Boufffleur: My freshman track season, we made it to state, and won. It was so memorable to be a part of this team because I got to be a part of a team that was very
connected, strong, and successful.
At one of my last races for cross country (Old Abe), my teammates and I had
finally run at our full potential. A lot of us had been holding back, whether it be
from an injury or fear, but we finally raced like we should have been. At the finish
line, we all stopped to take in the moment together, because it was an amazing
feeling.
OnFocus: Who are your favorite athletes and/or teams?
Boufffleur: Simone Biles and Milwaukee Brewers
OnFocus: What do you enjoy most about competing in front of family, friends and fans?
Boufffleur: I enjoy how much support I feel when my friends and family are at races cheering me on. I am so thankful that I have so many supportive people in my life, and
them coming to watch me shows that they care.
OnFocus: Do you have a funny or unusual moment(s) you have experienced in
sports?
Boufffleur: At a track meet my sophomore year I was so hungry between races, and I had
already eaten all my food I packed. They had Rocky Rococo’s at concessions, so
I had a huge slice of Rocky Rococo’s pizza right before my 800- like 40 minutes
before- and surprisingly ran well. My teammates were making fun of me after the
fact.
I got a Dr. Pepper at a gas station on the way to a track meet, and I was looking
forward to drinking it the whole time. Then, when I went to open it on the bus, it
exploded all over me.
OnFocus: What’s the best thing about being a student-athlete at D.C. Everest?
Boufffleur: The best thing about being a student athlete at DCE is the support from
everyone. People at this school show that they care, whether it’s coming to the
sporting event to watch, or asking how the game went the day after.
OnFocus: What words of wisdom can you give to other student-athletes?
Boufffleur: Have fun. Being an athlete can be hard at times, but having fun with your
teammates makes a sport 100 times better and gives you so many amazing
memories to look back on. You’re more likely to remember the fun times you had
than a hard workout or a bad race, so make the most of it. Also, time flies, so
enjoy every second.
OnFocus: Lastly, pancakes or waffles?
Boufffleur: Waffles
