WESTON – Sydney Uekert hit a three-run home run and Haley Larson added a solo shot to power a four-run fourth inning and help the D.C. Everest softball team beat Marshfield 6-4 on Wednesday at D.C. Everest High School.

Following Everest’s big inning, Marshfield rallied with three runs in the top of the fourth, only to see Everest score two more in the fifth to take a 6-3 lead.

The Tigers scored once in the sixth, but couldn’t get any closer as Everest pitcher Megan Wilde held on for the win.

Courtney Donahue suffered the loss for the Tigers, striking out seven and walking one in a complete-game effort.

Jenna Jakobi and Taylor Barwick each had a double and an RBI, and Brianna Jakobi went 2-for-3 for Marshfield (5-3, 1-2 Wisconsin Valley Conference).

Marshfield hosts Stevens Point at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, and weather permitting, will play Saturday at home against Holmen for a doubleheader at 10 a.m. at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.
