D.C. Everest Takes Lead Late, Earns Regional Final Title

D.C. Everest Evergreens Varsity stole the lead late and defeated Chippewa Falls Cardinals Varsity 3-2 on Thursday. The game was tied at two with D.C. Everest Evergreens Varsity batting in the top of the seventh when Cuyler Soppe singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. D.C. Everest Evergreens Varsity pitchers struck out four, while Chippewa Falls Cardinals Varsity pitchers sat down seven.

Chippewa Falls Cardinals Varsity knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the sixth inning. Mayson Tester drove in one when Tester doubled.

Soppe led the D.C. Everest Evergreens Varsity to victory on the hill. The righthander lasted one and one-third innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out three and walking zero.

Jakeb Lequia was on the hill for Chippewa Falls Cardinals Varsity. Lequia allowed three hits and two runs over three and a third innings, striking out three. Jacob Danielson threw three and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Preston Miller, Nate Langbehn, Pierson MacDonald, and Soppe each managed one hit to lead D.C. Everest Evergreens Varsity.
