Voting for the OnFocus Athlete of the Week, October 17 – October 23 saw a tight race for the top spot. Garnering the title was Sara Mlodik of DC Everest, who picked up 231 votes.
A balanced voting turnout saw 36 votes separate places 2-5:
- Joe Sullivan, Medford: 155 votes
- Elizabeth Schmidt, Merrill: 144 votes
- Andrew Scheer, Columbus Catholic: 127 votes
- Daisy Feiten, Colby: 119 votes
OnFocus Athlete of the Week, October 17 – October 23
- Sara Mlodik, DC Everest Girls Cross Country – Mlodik took first at the Stevens Point Division 1 Cross Country Sectionals, besting the field by nearly 18 seconds.
- Joe Sullivan, Medford Boys Cross Country – Sullivan is headed to the WIAA State Cross Country Meet, finishing second at the Division 2 Cross Country Sectionals at Colby.
- Elizabeth Schmidt, Merrill Girls Cross Country – Schmidt won the Division 2 Cross Country Sectionals at Colby, besting the field by nearly 25 seconds.
- Andrew Scheer, Columbus Catholic Boys Cross Country – Scheer took first at the Division 3 Cross Country Sectionals at Weyauwega-Fremont.
- Daisy Feiten, Colby Girls Cross Country – Feiten was pushed to the limit and took first at the WIAA Division 3 Cross Country Sectionals, winning the race by two seconds. Feiten heads up a Colby team eager to medal at the WIAA State Cross Country State Championships, to be held Saturday, October 30 at The Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
