Dan Witter: Lincoln High Schools Head Boys Basketball Coach
Retiring

Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln’s Head Boys Basketball Coach steps down after 24
years as head coach of the Red Raiders. Coach Witter has coached for 40 years
and 33 as a head varsity coach.

In 1999 Dan became the head coach at Lincoln High School accumulating 391
wins over that time period. Dan has coached more seasons and has won more
games than any coach in Lincoln High School History. Coach Witter has 2
Wisconsin Valley Conference titles, 1 sectional championship and has 1 state
appearance while at Lincoln. Dan was the WVC Coach of the Year in 2005 and
2011. He has served on the basketball sports advisory committee for the WIAA.
Dan was inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA)
Hall of Fame in the Fall of 2023.

“Dan has invested countless hours for our student-athletes over the past 24
years leading the Red Raider Boys Basketball program. His attendance at youth
events, leadership in the WBCA, and serving the Wisconsin Rapids community at
numerous events will be missed” said Ron Rasmussen, Lincoln High School Principal.

The Lincoln High School Athletic Department thanks Coach Witter for all countless hours
and for his dedication to basketball in the Wisconsin Rapids community. Coach Witter
will continue to look for opportunities to have a positive impact on the lives of
student-athletes.
