OnFocus – Pick-up dates for yard waste and leaves are October 8-12, October 22-26, and November 5-9; Brush and branches pick–up dates are October 15-19.

To get rid of yard waste such as leaves, garden waste, flowers, and grass clippings, there are a few options for Marshfield residents. Curbside yard waste and brush and branch pick-up is offered four (4) times in the fall.

Yard waste should be placed curbside by 6 a.m. on your regular garbage day and be in reusable containers or the “kraft” brown paper bags. Flowers should be taken out of any containers or wrapping. Note: any yard waste in plastic bags will not be picked up. The garbage drivers make a note of the addresses and a separate truck will come to pick up the yard wastes separately.

Brush or branches need to be bundled and tied with twine (for safety reasons) in one-foot diameter bundles which should not exceed four feet in length, or can be placed in a reusable container. For larger pieces of wood, branches should be no larger than 6 inches in diameter or exceed 50 lbs. so it can fit in the grinder.

Another option for residents is to take your yard waste and brush and branches to the Advance Disposal compost site located behind 501 South Hume Avenue (18th St. and Hume Ave). The site is open 24/7 year-round, and this service is free for all City of Marshfield residents.

If plastic bags are used they should be emptied when dropping them at the compost site. Take the bags home with you or throw them away in the on-site dumpster. Flowers should also be taken out of any pots or containers when dropped at the site, and again, take them back home with you to recycle or throw them away in the on-site dumpster.
