Wood County Sheriff’s Department Executes Search Warrant
Marshfield (OnFocus) – Wood County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant today near Lindsey, Wisconsin based on information obtained in their investigation of a missing Marshfield man, Zachary Vasa.
A coordinated search and rescue campaign was previously conducted in the Town of Rock on July 17 for Vasa, who went missing on June 13. Since then, additional information led law enforcement to believe that there were potential human remains on a previously unsearchable area of property.
Today at 10:30 a.m., Wood County Sheriff’s Department assisted by the S.W.A.T. team issued a warrant to search the private property located at 11783 Patton Drive in the Town of Rock. With collaboration of a cadaver dog from Madison, the sheriff’s department was able to make an arrest at the time of the search. Charges are being forward to the Wood County DA.
“We are very concerned for Zach’s safety at this time, as he has been gone missing for a month,” Wood County Investigative Sergeant Scott Goldberg previous told OnFocus during that search mission. “He has family that resides in and close to Marshfield. They are very worried.”
Today, the departments expanded their search after obtaining a warrant that allowed them to search additional property.
