Marshfield, WI (OnFocus) A donor has secured naming rights for the Marshfield Outdoor Aquatic Center which will replace Hefko pool at its current location.
The name of the donor will be announced later in the summer, said Parks and Recreation Director Justin Casperson during the Tuesday Common Council meeting. The donor made the announcement now to encourage individuals and businesses who were considering giving to the pool.
Naming rights to the pool were valued at $1.5 million.
A total of $2.5 million has been raised toward the project, about 85 percent of the $3 million private fundraising goal, said Casperson. Private donations are matched dollar for dollar by the City of Marshfield toward the $6.5 million project.
“We’re not going to give up until we get to $3 million,” said Casperson.
