Drew Aschliman’s putback layup with 1.4 seconds to go clinched the Mineral Point Pointers the Division 4 State Championship.
The Pointers held an 11-point lead with 2:42 to play but the Lancers staged a comeback for the ages including taking the lead with 13 seconds left when Eric Kenesie hit a floater in the lane.
But Mineral Point would respond after Landon Thousand missed a 3, and Aschliman was there to put back the rebound.
Mineral Point was led by Jaxson Wendhausen with 20 points, Thousand added 15, and Eli Lindsey added 11.
Kenosha St. Joseph was led by Kenesie with 23 points, Dom Santarelli added 14, and Tom Santarelli added 11.
