Driver in Stable Condition After One-Vehicle Crash on HWY 186

Submitted to OnFocus – Town of Hansen – On September 26 at approximately 5:55pm, Wood County Central Dispatch received the report of a one-vehicle crash on South 186 just north of Grant Road.

A vehicle was traveling southbound on 186 when it reportedly veered to avoid an animal in the roadway. The vehicle left the roadway, striking a driveway embankment. The operator and sole occupant was injured as a result of the crash.

The operator was airlifted by Spirit Medical Transport to Marshfield Medical Center and is in stable condition. The southbound lane of 186 was closed for approximately one hour due to the crash. It has since been reopened.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Pittsville Ambulance, Pittsville Fire Company, Vesper Fire Department, and Spirit Medical Transport
