Board to Elect New President at Next Meeting
Main Street Marshfield Board President Erin Howard announced her resignation today from the Board.
“The last eight years with Main Street Marshfield—first starting as a volunteer, then serving on the board, and now acting as board President—has been extremely rewarding on so many levels, but June 6 will be my last board meeting as President and member of the board of Main Street,” she wrote in her resignation letter.
Kaelie Gomez, Executive Director of Main Street Marshfield, spoke highly of Howard, noting that the resignation will offer Howard more time to invest in her family and businesses.
“Erin has been a champion of our downtown’s historic preservation, revitalization, and all around awareness of the good happening on Main Street,” said Gomez. “We appreciate the countless hours she’s invested behind the scenes collaborating with our partners, sponsors, businesses, fellow property owners, and volunteers for the benefit of every person involved. Her heart is truly in this work.”
Gomez added that she and the organization members look forward to seeing Howard regularly as an Economic Restructuring Committee member.
The Main Street Board of Directors will be voting on a new President at the next board meeting and that person will begin their role as President immediately.
“I have no doubt another strong leader will be elected – our board has many from which to choose,” said Gomez. “On behalf of Main Street Marshfield, thank you, Erin, for your continued service to and friendship with Downtown Marshfield.”

To Whom it May Concern,
The last eight years with Main Street Marshfield—first starting as a volunteer, then serving on the board, and now acting as board President—has been extremely rewarding on so many levels, but June 6 will be my last board meeting as President and member of the board of Main Street. This has been a very difficult decision for me, one that I have been contemplating for quite some time. My heart and passion are towards revitalization efforts and bringing businesses into the downtown. I plan to continue to play an active role in advocating and being a part of that process by continuing to be a downtown business and property owner, continuing to serve on the Wenzel Family Plaza Committee, and joining the Economic Restructuring committee on Main Street.
With my business growing and becoming busier I have contemplated on taking a step down from Main Street since last year, but I felt it was important to see through the transition of Kaelie’s new role as Executive Director and being an active player in Main Street’s new role with the Plaza. I made the decision to stay on during the interview process, assisting in hiring the new Plaza Coordinator, and assisting with the transition of Main Street moving to their new location.
I believe the Plaza is the “game changer” we need for positive change in our downtown and that is why I will continue to be on the Plaza committee. I believe whatever takes place in that Plaza will be beneficial to the downtown businesses and that is where I feel everyone will benefit my time and energy the most.
Even though I will no longer serve on the board I will remain a huge advocate for Main Street, and I will continue to share Main Street’s mission to whomever is willing to listen. The remaining board members each bring wonderful skills to the group. I believe I know who they will select as their next president, and I am confident that that person do a fantastic job continuing the work I have done over the last year and a half. I will continue to connect with Main Street to assist in their mission, and it won’t be difficult accomplishing this since we share the same office building.
If you have further questions about me and my business, please contact me. If you have further questions about Main Street Marshfield and their future plans please contact Kaelie Gomez.
Sincerely,
Erin Howard
