Abbotsford (OnFocus) – Cade Faber had 31 points and pulled down 15 rebounds as Abbotsford outlasted Spencer in boys regional quarterfinal action, 65-55.

Faber began by scoring 12 of the Falcons’ first 17 points.

Spencer gave Abbotsford all they could handle in the early going, however, and with 7 minutes left in the first half, held the advantage at 24-18.

Kaleb Brandt was big for the Rockets in the first half, scoring 14 points.

The Falcons then came on with a flurry before halftime, outscoring the Rockets with a 19-4 run.

After the break, Abbotsford’s lead grew to as much 16 points, but Spencer would not go away.

The Rockets’ persistence paid off, and with five minutes left, Abbotsford’s lead was whittled to 8 before Carpenter and Faber closed things out for Abbotsford.

Also coming up big for the Falcons was fellow senior Mason Carpenter. ‘Carp’ chipped in with 13 points and pulled down 13 rebounds, while blocking two shots.

Abbotsford advances to the regional final Friday evening at Edgar.
