Fatal UTV Accident in Township of Saratoga
Township of Saratoga (OnFocus – Press Release from Wood County Sheriff’s Department) On July 4, 2021 at approximately 12:43 am Wood County Communication Center received call of a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) accident in the Township of Saratoga on Ranger Road near the intersection of Squirrel Trail.
Wood County Deputies arrived on scene and identified two persons that were involved in the UTV accident.
Saratoga EMS and Wisconsin Rapids Fire/EMS responded as initial information reported a female passenger had sustained injuries. Life saving measures were attempted on the female, but was later pronounced deceased at the scene. The male driver had also received injuries and was transported by ambulance to Aspirus Riverview Hospital and currently in stable condition.
Initial information and investigation indicates that the UTV was traveling westbound on Ranger Road where it lost control and rolled into the south ditch near Squirrel Trail.
This incident is currently being investigated by The Wood County Sheriff’s Department and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
