A two-vehicle crash occurred Thursday afternoon around 3 p.m. at the intersection of HWY A and County Road EE in Richfield.
The vehicle traveling east on HWY EE ran a stop sign and collided with a pickup truck with trailer traveling south on HWY A. The driver of the pickup truck was transported for medical treatment. The other driver died from his injuries on scene.
Traffic was redirected at Klondike Drive.
Names have not been released. Further details are pending.

On Oct. 24 at approximately 3:01 p.m., the Wood County Dispatch Center received a call of a two-vehicle crash at CTH A/CTH EE in the Town of Richfield. When officers arrived, the initial investigation indicated one vehicle was eastbound and failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a southbound vehicle pulling a trailer.
The driver of the southbound pick-up truck that had been southbound on CTH A was transported to Marshfield Medical Center but later died from his injuries. The driver of the vehicle that had been eastbound on CTH EE died from his injuries at the scene.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Wood County Dispatch, Marshfield Police Department, Marshfield Fire & Rescue, Richfield Rural Fire Department, Wood County Highway Department, and the Wood County Coroner’s Office.
The released names are Zachary T. Phillips, 26, of Marshfield and George W. Benish, 65, of Wisconsin Dells.
