Marshfield (OnFocus)- There will be a brat fry in conjunction with a “Fill The Cart” event to benefit the United Way’s Nutrition on Weekends programs.
The brat barn will be open for this fundraiser on June 18th from 10 AM to 5 PM. The brats will be donated by Festival Foods.
“Our United Way is adding the ‘Fill the Cart’ event alongside it in support of our Nutrition on Weekends (NOW) program,” said Ashley Winch, Executive Director at Marshfield Area United Way. “Our NOW program provides supplemental food packs to children facing food insecurities in our area. Typically, food is delivered to the schools for children to take home for the weekend. When the schools closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we worked with our local food pantry, Soup or Socks, to continue to provide our program to our community.”
The school districts provided for by the United Way include Marshfield, Auburndale, Granton, Greenwood, Loyal, Spencer, and Stratford.
The “Fill The Cart” event was added to this brat fry as the NOW program this year has used more than double their average surplus in the past three months.
