GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN – (Dec. 22, 2020) – Organizers of the 13th annual Festival Foods Turkey Trot hoped to hit a new milestone this year and surpass $3 million in total event proceeds.

Results are in and the event blew past that goal! The Festival Foods Turkey Trot has raised $3.28 million for charity since it began in 2008, with $360,000 coming with this year’s Home Edition when nearly 20,000 participants laced up all across Wisconsin. As always, Festival Foods will give 100 percent of proceeds to Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCAs throughout Wisconsin.

Due to the circumstances this year, participants could choose a route of their choice to complete on or around Thanksgiving Day. More than 18,200 people and over 2,800 registered dogs completed the event’s 5-mile run or 2-mile walk.

“We are thrilled that so many people came out to support the event and that our sponsors continued their contributions as well,” said Brian Stenzel, senior director of community involvement for Festival Foods. “Our theme was #KeepTheTraditionAlive, and our participants and sponsors definitely did just that.”

The event boasted two unique opportunities for participants – an entry to win a Subaru Crosstrek 2020, courtesy of Bergstrom Subaru, and an online silent auction that raised over $3,500. Mary Loomis of Oconto was the lucky winner of the Subaru.

Each participant also received an iconic long-sleeved shirt, free full-size pie, custom face/neck covering and special coupon offers. Instead of claiming their pies, over 12,500 participants chose to donate them to local food pantries.

Festival Foods thanks all of the event sponsors, especially Bergstrom Subaru and the Premier Statewide Sponsors, Kwik Trip and WIPFLI.
