Police are reminding residents that dropping off items at St. Vincent de Paul thrift store should be done during normal business hours.

Donations dropped off after hours have included items that would normally be turned away and which cost the store to dispose of. Items left unattended are also stolen.

The Marshfield Police Department considers items dropped outside the building to be littering, which is punishable by a $187 fine.

St. Vincent de Paul thrift store is open 8-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:30-4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
