Firefighter/Paramedic Hannah Paulson is the newest member of the Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department. Her first day on the job was July 9th. New recruit firefighters start out their careers with the department in a two-week “orientation” session.

During these initial two-weeks, recruits work with department field training officers (FTO) and orient the new employee to department guidelines and policies, day-to-day operations, vehicle familiarization and operations, as well as a multitude of hands-on training at the station as well as the training center.

Hannah comes to the department from SAFER (South Area Fire & Emer-gency Response) District (Rib Moun-tain). At SAFER Hannah worked as a Firefighter and Critical Care Paramed-ic. That experience will transition very nicely into her new position with the Marshfield FD. During her schooling, she did many of her Paramedic clinical ride-along sessions with us at MFRD and proved herself to be a very skilled and valuable member of a team.

Hannah completed her orientation and started on the Blue Shift on July 22nd. If you see her out and about, please welcome her to Marshfield. Welcome to the FD family, Hannah!
