Fire at Masonite Contained by Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department

Marshfield, WI (OnFocus) – On Wednesday, August 7th, 2024, the Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department responded to an activated fire alarm at Masonite, located at 1401 E 4th Street in Marshfield.

Upon arrival, the department was informed of a fire within a large piece of equipment inside the building. Engines 2 & 1, along with Truck 1, and Ambulance 95, were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters quickly initiated an offensive interior fire attack, successfully extinguishing the blaze.

One firefighter sustained minor heat-related injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The fire caused moderate damage to the equipment and the building’s ventilation system. No additional injuries were reported.

The Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department commended their team for their swift response and effective action in containing the fire, ensuring the safety of the building’s occupants and minimizing damage.
