GILMAN – Gilman remains unbeaten this season after sweeping a doubleheader from Spencer in Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball action on Friday.
Gilman won 5-3 and 7-0, limiting the Rockets to three hits in each game. The Pirates are now 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the Cloverbelt East, while Spencer falls to 2-6 and 1-3 in conference play.
“Gilman really came at us hard tonight,” Spencer coach Laschel Canfield said. “Their pitching staff was too much for us to handle and we didn’t bring all of our bats. The girls fought hard and I still see us doing some great things this year.”
Aryiah Schuh had a hit and scored two runs in the first game for Spencer, which was limited to six singles in the twinbill.
Tiffany Meinders struck out six in both games on the mound for Spencer.
Spencer returns to action Monday at Neillsville.
