FLASH FLOOD WARNING FROM 9:53AM CDT SAT UNTIL 2:45PM CDT SAT.
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GREEN BAY HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR WOOD COUNTY, PORTAGE COUNTY, MARATHON COUNTY, WAUSHARA COUNTY IN CENTRAL WISCONSIN.
UNTIL 245 PM CDT. * AT 950 AM CDT, DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN APPROACHING THE WARNED AREA. FLASH FLOODING IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN IN THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO.
SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE ,WAUSAU, STEVENS POINT, WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WAUPACA, WAUTOMA, MARSHFIELD, WESTON, RIB MOUNTAIN, MOSINEE AND ABBOTSFORD.
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 3 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE WARNED AREA.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS. MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN VEHICLES. KEEP CHILDREN AWAY FROM STORM DRAINS, CULVERTS, CREEKS AND STREAMS. WATER LEVELS CAN RISE RAPIDLY AND SWEEP CHILDREN AWAY.
