CENTRAL WISCONSIN, WI (OnFocus) – Narrow bands of heavy rainfall will impact the Upper Mississippi River Valley tonight into Tuesday morning. Widespread amounts from 1″ to 3″ are expected with higher amounts of 3″ to 5″ possible in spots. Current confidence places this band from southeast Minnesota through western into central Wisconsin. There is also the potential for a lighter band along the Interstate 90 corridor. Should expected amounts increase within this narrow southern axis of heavier rainfall, may need southern expansion of the Flood Watch.

Portions of southeast Minnesota, including the following county, Wabasha and Wisconsin, including the following counties, Adams, Buffalo, Clark, Jackson, Juneau, Monroe and Trempealeau are currently in the Watch.

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
