We will go conference by conference and update you on where teams stand for the football playoffs.

The qualifications rules state that teams must be either a conference champion or have a winning conference record to qualify for the playoffs.

Teams with a .500 record are eligible for the playoffs but do not have a guaranteed place.

If the 224 team playoff field is not filled after these three conditions the remaining teams with the best conference win/loss percentage are in the field.

Team (Conference Record) Remaining Conference Games

VFA West

Qualified
None

Work to do
DC Everest (2-3) Wausau West, @Marshfield, Stevens Point
Marshfield (2-3) WI Rapids, @Wausau West, DC Everest
WI Rapids (2-3) @Marshfield, Stevens Point, @Wausau West
Wausau West (0-4) @D.C. Everest, Marshfield, @Stevens Point, WI Rapids
The three-way tie at the top of the VFA West, along with the way the conference is scheduled makes the playoff picture quite murky, DC Everest, Marshfield, and WI Rapids all need two wins to become playoff eligible. Wausau West needs to win out to get in, and three of their last four are against the top three teams in the conference.

Eliminated
Stevens Point (0-5)

Marawood

Qualified
None

Work to Do
Everyone
As a small conference that only plays 5 conference games, it is too early to really do a full report on the Marawood as every team is still technically in the playoff hunt. Stratford and Auburndale can become playoff eligible with one more win.  Rib Lake/Prentice and Tomahawk are one loss away from elimination.

Cloverbelt

Qualified
Eau Claire Regis (5-0)
Colby (4-0)

Work to Do
Spencer/Columbus (3-1) Colby, @Cadott, @EC Regis, Altoona
Osseo-Fairchild (2-2) @Stanley-Boyd, Altoona, @Neillsville/Granton Fall Creek
Stanley-Boyd (2-2) Osseo-Fairchild, @Neillsville/Granton, @Fall Creek, Colby
Cadott (2-3) @Fall Creek, Spencer/Columbus, @Colby
Neillsville/Granton (1-3) @Altoona, Stanley-Boyd, Osseo-Fairchild, @Regis
Altoona (1-4) Neillsville/Granton, @Osseo-Fairchild, @Spencer/Columbus
With only one team eliminated from contention a lot to be decided in the Cloverbelt, Spencer/Columbus can qualify with one more win. Altoona has to win out in conference play in order to qualify.

Eliminated
Fall Creek (0-5)

Cloverwood

Qualified
None

Work to Do
Everyone
Similar to the Marawood the Cloverwood just hasn’t played enough games to have anyone qualify. Abbotsford and Athens are one win away from becoming eligible. Everyone has at least a one-loss cushion for elimination.

Great Northern

Qualified
None

Work to Do
Everyone
Again another conference that has not played enough games yet to get a good report, Medford is one win away from qualification but will have to wait a week as they have a non-conference game at Wausau East. Ashland is one loss away from elimination.

Central Wisconsin Small

Qualified
Almond-Bancroft (3-0)

Work to do
Pittsville (2-1) @Rosholt, Menominee Indian
Rosholt (1-1) @Pacelli, Pittsville, Wild Rose
Menominee Indian (1-2) @Pacelli, @Pittsville
Pacelli (0-1) Rosholt, Menominee Indian, Almond Bancroft, @Wild Rose
Wild Rose (0-2) Almond-Bancroft, @Rosholt, Pacelli
Pittsville is the only team on the cusp of qualifying for the playoffs but will have to wait a week as they have a nonconference game at Potosi/Cassville. No team is at risk of elimination next week.
