Marshfield (OnFocus) – OnFocus contributor and local media personality Carrie Lippert-Gillaspie, featured TV host and entrepreneur Alex Wehrley on her podcast, Candidly Speaking last week. Wehrley talks about her background, her media career, and being Charlie Berens’ wife.

Wehrley is a Wisconsin girl through and through, having grown up just outside of Milwaukee. While attending college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she competed in and won Miss Wisconsin in 2009.

After serving her year as Miss Wisconsin, Wehrley set her sights on her next move, being on-camera. After a few stops in local news around the country in Rockford, Illinois, Oklahoma City, and Dallas, Texas, Alex decided to make the big leap to Los Angeles where her career in TV continued to grow as well as her itch to add entrepreneur to her resume.

She launched her media company, Empowerista, which helps empower female entrepreneurs with the tools and support to create content that tells their story via social media and helps them to build their personal brand and business.

Today, Alex and her husband, Emmy Award winning journalist, comedian and creator of the viral youtube show “The Manitowoc Minute”, Charlie Berens, are dual residents of both Wisconsin and Los Angeles.

Charlie will be heading to Marshfield later this month to attend Marshfield Insurance’s annual fundraiser, “Fore Roger” on July 22, 2020.

The annual fundraiser is held in memory of Marshfield Insurance founder Roger Arnoldy, who passed away in February 2012 from Lewy Body Dementia. Proceeds from the event go towards a Marshfield Clinic Health System Foundation fund to assist families affected with Alzheimer’s and Dementia, provide capital for research, and help purchase medical supplies.

Golfers at the event will have the chance to meet Charlie, with the comedian available for photos & charitable autographs during the event.
