Fox Valley Lutheran’s Jaenke Wins WIAA Girls 3-Point Challenge

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Emily Jaenke, a junior from Fox Valley Lutheran, won the 2022 girls 3-Point Challenge held Saturday morning at the Resch Center in conjunction with the State Girls Basketball Tournament.

Jaenke, representing Division 2, was one of 10 participants in the 3-Point Challenge, which was held for the seventh time and for the first time since 2019. She scored a final-round record of 23 points to win the contest. Sophomore Allie Ziebell of Neenah was second with 21 points in the final round, and senior Kate Huml of Janesville Craig was third with 15 points in the final round.

Jaenke scored 19 points in the opening round and 16 in the semifinals. Ziebell opened with 20 points and followed with a 15 in the semifinals. Huml and senior Lily Krahn of Prairie du Chien also advanced to the semifinals with scores of 16 and 15, respectively.

Other participants were freshman Hailee Bauer of Lourdes Academy, junior Isabel Matzek of Prescott, senior Lilly Griffith of St. Mary Catholic, senior Paige Hanner of Eleva-Strum and junior Julianna Ouimette of Lakeland.
