MARSHFIELD – Greenwood scored in six of its seven at-bats to top Marshfield Columbus Catholic 11-5 in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball finale for both teams on Tuesday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.
The Dons finish the regular season at 5-11 overall and end up 5-9 in the Cloverbelt East. Greenwood is now 13-5 and finishes 11-3 in the Cloverbelt East.
Amanda Bogdonovich pitched a complete game for the Indians, striking out four. She also had a single, a double, a triple and two RBIs.
Maddie Raese hit a home run and had two RBIs, and Abby Kirchner and Gracie North both had two RBIs as well for Greenwood.
Maren Seefluth had two singles, a double and an RBI for Dons.
Annie Baierl and Taylor Tolppi each had two hits, and Emily Nemitz drove in a pair of runs for Columbus.
Columbus Catholic will have a week off until opening WIAA playoff competition on Tuesday, May 21, at home against Northland Lutheran/Wisconsin Valley Lutheran in a Division 5 regional semifinal.
