Gun Fired in Marshfield Apartment on Monday

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – A 29-year-old man was arrested on Monday morning after police found he had discharged a firearm in his apartment.

A 52-year-old Marshfield man called police reporting hearing multiple gunshots at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Monday morning. The man told police the man in the apartment below him owned a gun.

Officers spoke to multiple other witnesses who reported hearing gunshots. One witness was able to identify the specific apartment they thought the shots came from which matched the apartment described by the 52-year-old man.

Officers made contact with a 29-year-old man. The man’s window had damage consistent with multiple gunshots. The man originally blamed his cat for the damage.

The man was in possession of two firearms and later admitted to discharging one of the guns.

He was arrested and transported to Marshfield Medical Center and a blood draw was completed. He was then transported to the Wood County Jail and charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
