Hair a Longtime Passion for Stylists
Loyal, WI (OnFocus) Hair We Are in Loyal has built up a reputation as a great salon in its two years of business.
Owner Amanda Stephens has always been around hairstyling. “I grew up in the industry because my mom was a hairstylist most of my life,” she said. “I tried traditional college and it wasn’t my thing, and my friend Tina just graduated from beauty school. I decided to go and try it. Little did I know that it would be my passion.”
One of her favorite parts of the job is making others happy with their style. “I love put a smile on someone’s face,” she said. “It’s the best when you can make someone’s day by doing their hair and making them feel better about themselves.”
Hair We Are will be moving just a few doors down from its current downtown location for more space to grow and to breathe new life into a historical building. As part of that growth, Amanda is welcoming a new stylist and her close friend of 30 years, Tina Schmidt, a Loyal native who graduated from beauty school in 2002 and has been behind the chair ever since.
“I’m excited to have another stylist working with me and to have a tanning bed,” said Amanda. “With both of us, we will be open six days a week to help fulfill the needs of our community.”

A ribbon cutting for the new location next to Sweet Retreat Cake Boutique will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 4 p.m. followed by an open house.
