Hiller’s True Value has been a longstanding staple in the Marshfield community and, as an essential business, continues to serve customers during the pandemic. With their popular Milwaukee Tool Demo Days scheduled for today and tomorrow – an event that many local businesses take advantage of to supply their workers – Hiller’s has taken precautions and is offering alternative options for those interested in participating.
“Due to the concern of COVID-19, both curbside pick-up and delivery will be available,” said Phil Hiller, owner. “In addition, we will have a digital order form available to place your orders if you are unable or are uncomfortable coming in store.”
(Those interested can e-mail [email protected] to request a copy of that form.)
“We know that providing these tools for other essential businesses is important,” said Hiller. “We will be well within the recommended guidelines to host a successful and safe demo days.”
Hiller’s remains open and available to those with any hardware needs.
“Our event and party rental aspect of the business is dead and gone for now as people are cancelling events, but other aspects of the business are running,” said Hiller. “Companies that are essential companies that are still running, their workers are in and out to get the supplies they need to keep their businesses going.”
His business also remains open for home owners to access the necessary products they need to complete projects, such as fix a toilet or get a sump pump for a flooded basement.
Hiller added that some people are also coming in to buy paint and other tools for in-home projects, and as spring progresses he expects people will start work on their lawn and gardens as they have in previous years.
“I anticipate that will still take place,” he said, adding that the store is doing everything they can to protect employees and customers, such as following CDC guidelines, increasing cleaning and sanitation, and practicing social distancing.
Hiller’s is also offering delivery and curbside pickup for everyday orders. Customers can call 715.384.9101 to request this service.
At the corporate level, True Value Co. is even converting part of its paint manufacturing plant in Cary, WI to begin production of hand sanitizer and cleaning products in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Typically, the factory is dedicated to producing several million gallons of paint annually, but now the 600,000-square-foot facility (having the permission of the FDA) will increase production of hand sanitizer. The first shipment is expected in True Value stores in mid-April.
