Historic Preservation Committee Announces 2022 Stewardship Awards Program

MARSHFIELD, WI (Submitted to OnFocus) – Has an aging property in your neighborhood become the shining star of the block? Are you aware of someone who has done such a great job restoring or maintaining their property that they should be recognized? The Marshfield Historic Preservation Commission would like your help in identifying candidates for the 2022 Stewardship Awards Program.

To promote public awareness of preservation and restoration, the Commission will present awards to property owners who have shown exemplary stewardship in historic preservation through renovation and upkeep of their property.

Any property 50 years or older, or any individual or business that is involved in historic education and promotion in the community, is eligible. Awards will be announced and presented annually or bi-annually in May conjunction with Historic Preservation Month or a Common Council meeting.

To submit a nomination, go to:
https://www.ci.marshfield.wi.us/community/historic_preservation/stewardship_award_pr ogram.php, print out the Nomination Form, and mail your completed nomination to: Historic Preservation Commission, City of Marshfield, 207 W 6th Street, Marshfield, WI 54449 or email to [email protected].

Forms are also available at City Hall in the Development Services Department. In order for your nomination to be considered please submit nominations by Monday, March 28th, 2022.

The Commission & city staff look forward to working with the community to promote Marshfield’s historic character through education and outreach. Help us celebrate the people and places that make Marshfield interesting, unique and important.
